The Facts of Vaping:

Vaping is still a relatively new concept to the market, only have been around roughly a decade. It hasn’t had as much publicity as cigarette smoking, so there are still a lot of people that don’t know about it yet. We will discuss and help you understand the similarities and differences in habits.

For many years, smoking has caused tremendous amount of health concerns throughout the world. Some legislation has been put into place to help decrease some of the serious risks.

Compared to smoking, studies have shown that vaping has a significantly lower level of health and safety risks. However, since 2007 there have been 243 reported vape battery explosions. Most, which have taken, place during transport or while charging. Please note that it is the battery, not the E-cig itself. Since then, starting in 2015 they have redesigned these batteries and that helped reduce this number significantly.

Vaping vs. Smoking: Cost Difference

The cost of use plays a huge role when determining which one is right for you. Vaping is seen to be more expensive of the two. Why? Because the initial upfront cost of the hardware, but in the long run it’s a cheaper investment. The average cigarette smoker smokes 1 pack per day at the average price of $6 a day. So we assume that number for everyday of the week, which comes to about $42 per week. That comes to a grand total of $2016 per year. Now on the opposing end the average starter vape kit goes for about $50 upfront cost. The average vaper then spends roughly $15 per week on juice, that which comes to $60 per month or & $720 per year!

From the calculations above, you can easily see that vaping is a much cheaper route. When vaping you have much more control of your juice intake such as having the ability to take a puff or two when you need it.

Vaping vs. Smoking: Which One?

According to an article written by the UK’s Department of Health - A highly qualified group of scientists, researchers, & public health professionals said, electronic cigarettes are roughly 95% safer than the traditional tobacco cigarettes. This report also states their potential to help smokers quit and cut back.


When comparing vaping and smoking, there are various aspects to take into consideration. Overall and in the long run it seems to be much safer and cheaper to vape. Only time will truly tell with the statistics and results.
